Shawn Seifert - Award Winning Director of Photography

I started out in the film industry working for Crosby Marine Film Services assisting productions to shoot movies in, on, and around the water. During my time with Crosby Marine I worked on films such as The Revenant, Planet of the Apes, 1, 2 and 3, Mission Impossible 4, and Power Rangers.
I cut my teeth as a cinematographer doing music videos, corporate videos, short films and spec commercials. In 2013 I got a chance to do my first feature, Cargo. I followed with my first TV movie later that same year. I have been fortunate to be behind the camera on over 30 TV movies since then.
I’ve shot feature films that have played in festivals and theatres around the world. My latest feature, Bau; Artist at War, has just started its festival run and has already won best cinematography, best film and best director at the Sunscreen Film festival. It’s next screening will be at the opening night for the Beverly Hills Film Festival. Once Bau has finished its festival run it will have its theatrical premier later this year.
My style is always adapting to meet the requirements of each show and the director's vision. I strive to create a visual style for each film that builds upon the story and never distracts from it. Each show teaches me something new about my craft, the world around me and the very process of assembling images and sound into a journey for the audience.
